Review and Reform of Contract Law in Malaysia

The Malaysian Contracts Act 1950 has been the cornerstone of contractual relations in Malaysia for over seven decades. However, with the rapid evolution of business practices, technological advancements, and changing societal norms, there is a growing need to reassess the suitability of the Act in its current form. This proposal outlines the objectives and approach for the reform, including the consideration of whether to amend the existing Act or repeal and replace it with new legislation.
