Project Details
Project Description
A research project focused on gathering robust and defensible flight height data (along with known position and known wind speed at point of data capture) from a suite of focal seabird species to investigate the potential for interactions (bird strike) with offshore wind turbines. This specifically informs the proposed Star of the South Wind Farm off South Gippsland but as this is the first offshore wind farm for the southern hemisphere it will also inform future offshore wind farm developments in this region.
