Project Details
Project Description
The first aim is to thaw by 2 methods frozen ovarian tissue, consented to research, from a range of patient ages and analyse follicular dynamics and viability, using histology and follicular isolation (in vitro growth). The second aim would be to compare novel and traditional freezing methods using similar in vitro techniques with oocyte maturation being an end point using animal models. Going forward, it could be routine for patients, that 10% of the tissue be analysed soon after freeze (with the best freeze and thaw technique in place). This would give a guide to patients and the clinic as to what they have frozen and how ‘useful’ it could be for future procreation.
