Project Details
Project Description
Oral delivery is a low cost, reduced labor way to treat and or vaccine animals and humans. However the complex and dynamic environment of the gastro-intestinal tract may result in inconsistent patient response to an orally delivered pharmaceutical. The goal of this project is to characterize and optimize oral delivery of valuable compounds in plant cells to enable consistent, efficient and effective treatment or immunization of animals and humans. The increased knowledge regarding oral delivery will have broad ramifications for general health and vaccination programs enhancing existing technologies and creating new opportunities for Australian health industries.
