Project Description

Photonics reservoir computing is one of the leading candidates for neural network like computing element to run machine learning algorithms at speeds of tens of gigabits per second that enables unprecedented massive autonomous parallel information processing. Our proposed Photonic Computing Architecture Validator will be the first integrated Australian facility to implement a testbed to accelerate real time development and testing of machine learning approaches suitable for processing ultra-fast spatiotemporal data streams. This enables rapid testing of new machine learning approaches without the challenges of implementing on photonic integrated circuit domain that has been holding back the ultra-fast machine learning development.
