Project Details
Project Description
This ‘Arts Reach’ project brings together U3A Mornington seniors, primary school children and staff from Mornington Park Primary School and pre-service teachers and staff from Monash University, Faculty of Education. The project entails an art, community and environment experience. Together participants share their intergenerational stories about plastic and waste while up-cycling their everyday waste into individual/shared artworks. Together they explore the ways that plastic, everyday waste, wildlife and sea come together as an environmental concern in our region and how creative action can build positive awareness through art. Participants write combined reflections and arising questions about their artworks that will be shared with other seniors, and children and pre-service teachers from Monash University through an Art Community and Environment e-poster.
