Optimising Australia’s Electricity System: The Role of Blockchain Technology

Project: Research

Project Details

Project Description

This project has the following aims: (1) to identify how to cost-effectively
design an electricity transition scheme with a set of emerging solutions
proposed based on theoretical analysis and information technologies,
which allow households and business stockholders to share underlying
energy resources in a secure, reliable and efficient manner to assist the
Australian government in achieving net zero emissions by 2050, and (2) to
establish the smart districts and decision mechanisms for government,
stakeholders (e.g., energy generators, retailers, and consumers), and
leverage artificial intelligence algorithms and blockchain-based smart
contracts that can support the operations of a sustainable electricity
transition plan for stakeholders by integrating multi-dimensional data to
coordinate energy generation, distribution, and demand analysis.
