Nudging clinicians to reduce unnecessary medical test ordering

Up to twenty five percent of hospital medical tests are thought to be unnecessary, resulting in significant waste and harm to patients. This is often exacerbated by poorly designed electronic test ordering interfaces. By applying nudge theory to the ordering interface we believe we can improve clinician test ordering.
