The ability to deliver DNA safely and efficiently to a wide variety of cell types and tissues is crucial to gene
therapy, cell-based therapy and cell engineering techniques. We aim to develop efficient, non-toxic, noninvasive,
non-chemical, means to deliver DNA into intact cells, with tangible scientific, strategic, national and
economic gains. Efficient reprogramming of somatic cells into induced pluripotent stem cells via this
technology will benefit stem cell research significantly, without requiring the use of embryos and the
associated ethical concerns. Generation of transgenic germ cells/sperm will enable simple, efficient and
cost-effective production of transgenic animals, with agricultural and potential human benefits.
