New reactivity from unusual main group compounds

Many main group elements are abundant, cheap and generally less harmful compared with most other elements from the periodic table. This project will develop a range of fundamentally important main group compounds with unusual oxidations states, bonding modes and rare functionalities. We will study the novel properties and further reactivity of these compounds and apply them to synthetic methodologies and towards greener and more sustainable technologies.
