Project Description

The Research Cloud National User Support project and its later promulgation to other Nectar projects has created the Distributed Help Desk.

This initiative addresses the need for quality and consistent user support delivery to assist the expanding user base of Nectar digital research infrastructure including the Research Cloud, the now assimilated National Server Program, software infrastructures (such as Virtual Laboratories, Research Tools, DeVLs, and so on) and the RDSI / RDS National Collections.

These infrastructures and services are operated and governed by multiple organisations, and hence traditional ICT services are non-trivial to apply. This project introduces new operational elements to deliver a sustainable and cost effective user support service that is able to support traditional eResearch capabilities and begin to alignm broader and increasingly digital NCRIS and global infrastructure.
