    Project Description

NEAMI is a service provider that helps people with mental illness to live in the community. They use a collaborative recovery model (CRM) to “support people to live independently and live a meaningful life”. However, the consumer’s identity has always been a difficult issue to implement as part of the CRM for both worker and consumer. Using a design intervention to assist with these conversations, this project seeks to answer the following questions:

    1. How can communication design principles be applied to the identity tool to ensure ease of use and efficacy?
    2. In what way can design thinking techniques be employed to build capacity within organisations to further develop communication design-based interventions?
    3. How might co-design techniques facilitate the development of tools that complement existing processes and practices in mental health treatment?
