Project Description

This proposal links the needs of two Victorian Institute Chemical Sciences members, Monash and RMIT Universities, for state-of-the-art separations and mass spectrometry instrumentation for biological/medical/analytical research. Superior compound separation power, with definitive high resolution mass spectral identification, will enhance all research programs where molecular speciation and precise knowledge of identity is critical. Biological assays (enzymes, peptides, toxins, metabolite profiling), quality assurance and the development of modern and traditional medicines and gene technologies will be enhanced by this facility.
