Molecular insight into allosteric modulation of G protein-coupled receptors

Project: Research

Project Details

Project Description

The project aims to understand the molecular mechanisms underlying signal transduction and allosteric modulation at G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs). The intended outcome is to use a multidisciplinary approach that includes structural biology, medicinal chemistry, and analytical pharmacology to investigate how novel chemical probes modulate GPCRs at an atomic level providing much needed insight into the fundamental mechanisms underlying signal transduction. Project outcomes are intended to lead to significant advances in membrane protein crystallography and GPCR biology, and will have a substantial impact on the pharmaceutical industry.
