Project Details

Project Description

My vision is to provide policy makers with scientifically rigorous economic methods to promote the quality of hospital care. I will advance theoretical research on hospital decision making in the context of the Australian health system, and promote national and international research by measuring the quality of hospital care in Australia with state of the art econometric techniques, determining the factors which have the highest potential to promote quality, and facilitate the use of performance data in practice. I will use high quality data on a range of quality measures. Results will support the implementation of quality control programs in hospitals.
