Project Description

Membrane proteins represent the next significant challenge in structural biology. This application seeks to establish a Membrane Protien Structure and Interaction Facility to create a network of cutting-edge technologies across three Melbourne Universities for the study of the structure and interactions of membrane proteins. The consortium comprises a group of researchers with complimentary expertise in a range of techniques for studying membrane interactions, including biosensor, fluorescence and NMR technologies. The facility will enhance membrane research through the purchase of a surface plasmon resonance based biosensor, a dual interferometer, a fluorescence correlation microscope and 600MHz solid-state NMR spectrometer.
