Project Description

Absorption of poorly water-soluble drugs from the gastrointestinal tract is often variable, leading to uncertainty in the clinical use of such drugs. Formulation of drugs in the presence of lipids, surfactants and polymers can enhance absorption rate and reduce variability in blood levels of drug. The fate of lipid/polymer formulations in the complex digestive environment of the intestine is poorly understood.
