Project Description

Australia is emerging as a global leader in additive manufacturing (AM) for high value,
medical components due to the design advantages of AM leading to customised solutions.
This project will conduct research into AM methods for Minipump in collaboration with
Monash University. This project will place Australia at the forefront of reliable AM of high
integrity, high value components and position Australian manufacturers as global leaders
in the supply of these high value components into global supply chains, not only for
Minipump, but also in other sectors.
This project will potentially explore, for application in Minipump:
- novel alloys that take advantage of the forming processes and the thermal
conditions during AM processes to achieve desired microstructure and
mechanical properties.
- Opportunities for engagement with local industry to manufacture minipump
components using additive manufacturing techniques and new materials
