Project Description

The aim of this experiment is to explore the properties of GO in soft matter phases at compositions and conditions that mimic those of established gelation conditions. This data can then be compared with the templated solid structure’s morphology, through either further scattering experiments or direct analysis with electron microscopy, to determine how effectively the soft matter structures have been replicated by the bulk solid. GO is an attractive material for this due to its wide variety of applications and known morphology, however the principles could potentially be extended to other templatable materials such as silica and zeolites.
