Project Details

Project Description

This project will investigate how primary school-aged children can develop risk intelligence to guide their behaviour and reduce their current high rate of injury. It will develop a cognitive model for children to develop lifelong knowledge, skills and attitudes about risk management so that they can base their decisions on their own understandings of safety and risk. This model will assist children to develop and embed risk intelligence within their everyday thinking and actions, so that they can manage rather than avoid risk. This project will uniquely apply new approaches in learning research to action in a field which directly impacts upon threats to the lives and health of young people.
