Project Description
Relating to the performance investigation of various inhibitors, and combinations thereof, for steel protection. Tasks to be conducted and reported on include: • Attempt to optimize corrosion inhibitor ratios • Investigate inhibitor substitution • Evaluate performance of optimized inhibitor ratios on different steel classes by electrochemistry • Investigate the thin inhibitor films formed by XPS • Synthesize the mixture of relevant compounds by direct melt synthesis Monash staff member, Jamie Hicks, will be directed by Dr. Paul White of CSIRO Manufacturing,
