Investigating the capability of a new design provided by BaoEngineering for all steel permanent stair formwork

A new design for all steel permanent stair formwork will be developed in this project. A finite element model will be developed to investigate the geometry effect on behaviour of prefabricated formwork and stair. The finite element model will then be used in order to estimate the magnitude of failure load. Moreover, experimental tests will be conducted to verify the finite element model. Using a comprehensive parametric study the effect of several parameters on overall behaviour of formwork, construction time, and construction cost will be investigated. Finally, the suitability of current codes of practice for the developed formwork will be investigated; accordingly an appropriate design procedure will be developed.
