Project Description

This project will examine the impact of domestic and foreign policies on Muslim residents and citizens of France and Australia. A comparison of the Muslim communities in theses states 9based on the models of assimilation in France and multiculturism in Australia) will provide insight into how national agenda, foreign policy and national ideologies affect and influence the processes of integration and successful coexistence. This project will foster greater awareness and understanding of the varied expereinces of Muslims in wEstern liberal democratic states. Furthermore this research will explore how the French and australian systems of integration can be supported and improved to meet the expectations of the Muslims and the broader community.
