Project Details
Project Description
The work of the Monash team will focus on two main research activities:
1. Literature review: A review of existing international research to determine the types of data used to identify and predict students at risk of disengagement, the processes used to locate and present that data and the ways it is being used to inform initiatives to address the issue including any key considerations such as timing.
2. Case study investigation: An investigation into how ten Victorian schools identify students at risk of disengagement including their processes, practices and use of data to identify at risk students; leadership initiatives in response to this; and successes, challenges and areas for improvement within this approach.
In combination, these activities will document what we know about emerging research and school practice related to the identification of students at risk of disengagement.
