Project Details

Project Description

This project will deliver new, secure patterns for watermarks and fingerprints for digital audio files. Such watermarks are used to determine media ownership, and to detect tampering, collusion and other security breaches. The patterns are based on novel Latin squares, an abstract mathematical construction. Their implementation will use orthogonal tones, a technique already employed in wireless networks (specifically Wi-Fi). The embedding technique, using the new patterns, will be extended to still images, video, and secure wireless networks.
