Project Description

ZonMw’s is the national funding organisation in The Netherlands. Its principal commissioners are the Dutch Ministry of Public Health, Welfare and Sport (VWS) and the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO).

On 3 July 2018 ZonMw awarded this grant (project number 852001927) to investigate the safety and cost effectiveness of induction at home versus induction at the hospital. Simultaneously, the project compares the cost effectiveness of the use of misoprostol versus the use of a Foley catheter in induction.
The study aims to include 2,828 patients over a period of 24 months in 14 hospitals. The funding awarded for this study is € 500,800 Euro ($791,131) to Universitair Medisch Centrum Utrecht (University Medical Centre)
