    Project Description

The internet consumes 5 billion kWh per year in Australia, growing at 15% per annum. The waste heat produced is already a major problem for data centres and network operators, but the environmental impact will be even worse. This project aims to reduce energy use by modifying network protocols to manage resources better. It will find the optimal way to adjust the speed of a data centre as load varies to minimise energy use without reducing user-perceived performance.
