Project Description

This project will achieve nanoscale structural and morphological images associated with biological, protein based redox processes at high resolution using scanning probe microscopy. Our atomic force microscope is dedicated to in situ measurements will achieve the first fundamental microscopic understanding of electron transfer and associated processes during electrochemical control. The morphology, conformation, orientation of the redox proteins will be imaged as will the effect of modifications to the electrode used to achieve effective immobilization of the protein.
