    Project Details

    Project Description

Atomic arrangement is key to the properties of advanced materials, but light atoms remain difficult to detect despite their critical importance in materials and devices. This project will pioneer techniques to detect and quantify the presence of light atoms and vacancies using advanced electron microscopy. In so doing, we will create the tools for analysing and understanding many technologically significant devices, such as lithium battery materials. Contributing to world research in materials science and nanotechnology, this project will enhance Australia's international standing and help boost its already high level of technological skill. It will also bring a successful researcher back to Australia.
