Project Description
This clinical quality improvement project will build on the body of work already published
from the PCOR-Vic database. It will include a snapshot analysis of the contemporary AS
PCOR-ANZ CLINICAL QUALITY IMPROVEMENT RESEARCH PROGRAM 3
patterns of care in Australia and New Zealand and a series of clinician (urologists and
radiation oncologists) interviews to identify targetable barriers to improve AS uptake in
Australia and New Zealand.
The specific aims are:
1. To determine the proportion of men eligible for AS as captured in PCOR-ANZ who
were placed on AS, and factors associated with it
2. To determine the proportion of men on AS as captured in PCOR-ANZ, who had
subsequent active treatment within 12 months of diagnosis, and factors associated
with it
3. To identify clinician-related barriers to and recommendations for the effective
utilisation of AS in eligible men.
