Project Details

Project Description

The fundamental neurobiological question of the relationship between asymmetry in cerebral representation of different functional domains will be probed by employing a novel conceptual framework and a unique human model. Through the use of cutting-edge brain imaging technologies, this research will provide significant insights into functional asymmetry and language, two characteristic features of our species. Knowledge of the factors influencing cerebral representation has important implications for our understanding of the recovery of cognitive and behavioural functions following brain injury, and ultimately for the development of rational rehabilitation strategies across a wide range of functions.
