From Tourists to Ambassadors: Evaluating the Effectiveness of Environmental Communication onboard Antarctic Cruise Ships

This research project will evaluate the environmental communication strategies of Antarctic cruise expedition teams to provide new insights into the relationship between polar travel and post-voyage tourist behaviour. The project is supported by HX which has partnered with UTAS since 2021 to conduct research projects on board HX voyages to the Antarctic Peninsula. This project was supported with funding for travel by the Centre for Marine Socioecology ($6,000) and the Antarctic Southern Ocean Mission Integrator ($3,000).
