    Project Details

    Project Description

For more than one hundred years, Indigenous Victorians were subject to government policies that denied them their wages, savings and pensions. This project will investigate the history of these Stolen Wages policies and the impact of these policies on Victorian Indigenous communities. The project will undertake archival research, consult with Indigenous communities and develop an interactive community website on Stolen Wages. The outcomes will be a monograph, two journal articles, a community report, a PhD thesis, a public forum and the website. The project will increase the understanding of Stolen Wages policies in Victoria. This understanding will assist with providing reparations for those Indigenous peoples affected by these policies.
