Project Details
Project Description
The purpose of the project is to undertake a data review as a component of the first periodic review of the Family Violence Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management (MARAM) Framework’s operation as required under Section 194 of the FVPA. In line with Section 194, the data review will seek to validate the data and evidence underpinning the MARAM risk factors, including to:
● understand how these are related to ‘seriousness of risk’ (validating the serious risk factors for correlation to likelihood of the perpetrator causing the victim survivor’s death or serious injury)
● confirm the accuracy of the ‘emerging risk factors’ and understand their correlation to ‘seriousness of risk’
● compare the MARAM risk factors to the Victorian Homicide Register, and MARAM risk assessment data captured and stored in MARAM-aligned web-based and other data storage platforms used by specialist family violence services in Victoria. This will include consideration of new and emerging MARAM risk factors for both adult and child victim survivors.
