Project Description
Monash Partners has prioritised the concept of improved health outcomes through data-driven innovation. An area of particular interest has related to the primary care sector. Seen by the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare as fundamental to informing quality improvement, service planning and the health of the population, quality primary care data also has the potential to raise the profile of primary care(1) and to be a stepping stone to a more integrated health care system.
There have been significant efforts expended into consolidating and optimising the use of primary care data for the improvement of clinical care and health service delivery in the catchment of Monash Partners. A current MRFF investment prioritises primary care data as a component of an enhanced primary care practice based research network.
In this proposal, already explored with Monash Partners’ senior management, we aim to understand the context, characteristics, organisational structures, priorities, and key challenges faced by varied stakeholders for data led health care improvement in the catchment of Monash Partners.
The proposal has a specific focus on needs as they relate to the primary care sector.
