Project Details

Project Description

A fulvic acid product generated by Greenpower (private company) is to be evaluated for effects on plant growth.

The proposed research plan will consist of three glasshouse studies and an incubation study. The first glasshouse study will investigate the impact of the frequency of VBC liquor application to tomatoes and wheat as well as determining if there is an increase in wheat yield at maturity as a result of an increase in the number of wheat heads per plant. The second will be to investigate the application of VBC liquor to a wider range of crops. The third will be to assess the phytotoxicity of CC liquor in a germination study and then based on those results, to assess growth and yield benefits on tomatoes and wheat by foliar application. The incubation study will investigate if the application of VBC or CC liquor stimulates the soil microbial community by measuring carbon dioxide emissions.
