Evaluating the impact of an electronic patient journey board at Alfred Health

Project: Research

Project Details

Project Description

To evaluate the impact and effectiveness of the electronic patient journey board across one health service (at 3 sites) in Victoria, Australia.
Patient journey boards are a visual management tool used to provide access to critical information about each patient’s current progress such as active referrals, discharge plan and discharging barriers for facilitating timely discharge.
The electronic patient journey board will be implemented across Alfred Health to support progression of care along with clinical and operational decision making. Electronic patient journey boards will display a combination of integrated and manually updated data, replacing non-electronic whiteboards, to enable health service staff to view and make decisions based on available information across the entire patient journey.
