Project Description

This project involved providing Safer Care Victoria (within the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services) with an ethical framework/guidelines to assist Victorian hospitals with making ethical decisions about the allocation of ICU resources during the COVID-19 pandemic, in circumstances where those resources become scarcer than at present. SCV have indicated that the Western Health draft document Ethical Guideline for Clinical Care Decision Making during the COVID-19 Pandemic provides a helpful indication of the length and nature of the statewide ethical framework/guidelines that SCV/DHHS are requesting.
