Project Details
Project Description
This project will gather evidence of built, technology and workforce design to improve outcomes for older Australians living in Residential Aged Care (RAC).
The research phases include:
- Phase 1: Determine effective and efficient methods to identify barriers and enablers to physical, therapeutic, and technology-enabled support delivery and participation opportunities in RAC;
- Phase 2: Evaluate, map and communicate environmental interventions to improve resident outcomes and care delivery;
- Phase 3: Document strategies to enhance RAC built, technology and service design, informing State and Federal Government work to develop aged care design guidelines and principles;
- Phase 4: Establish evidence-informed consumer and industry education resources, which can be used internationally to enhance RAC models.
