Project Description
The overall aim is to develop and evaluate co-designed resources to support decision-making regarding the use of medications to manage urinary incontinence for people living with dementia in residential aged care facilities (RACFs). The project will involve three specific objectives to be achieved over two years.
1. Identify stakeholder priorities for resources to support decision-making regarding the use of medications to manage urinary incontinence for people living with dementia in RACFs.
2. Co-design evidence-based resources to support decision-making regarding the safe and effective prescribing, monitoring and deprescribing of medications for the management of urinary incontinence for people living with dementia in RACFs.
3. Implement the new resources and evaluate their ability to support decision-making for continence care for people living with dementia in line with Australia’s new strengthened aged care standards.
