Project Description
This project seeks to improve the understanding of the unique drivers, experiences and responses to abuse of older people with cognitive impairment. It will generate a comprehensive evidence base to enhance policy and service responses for older people with cognitive impairment facing abuse. By mapping existing services and identifying gaps, the research will inform future prevention strategies and improve support systems.
The mixed-methods project engages policy makers, service providers, practitioners and people with lived experience of elder abuse who have cognitive impairment across each State and Territory. Outcomes will drive more inclusive, effective interventions across Australia’s elder care landscape
