Project Details
Project Description
This project will investigate the factors contributing to, and physiological/biochemical processes controlling, the initiation and development of blooms of the toxic cyanobacterium Nodularia spumigenea.
This organism can cause extensive blooms in waters around Australia and the world and can consequently have severe impacts on health, water amenities and tourism. Understanding the environmental factors that lead to development of such blooms is critical to management strategies.
