Project Details

Project Description

The discovery of new carbonic anydrase isozymes (CAs) provides he opportunity to deliver targeted chemotherapies in cancer, glaucoma and malaria. These conditions each have unique but immense consequences for global health and the aim of this proposal is to carry out the fundamental resarch necessary to underpin the future development of new CA based therapies. This project will discover and optimise new inhibitors of CAs involved in these diseases, positioning promising compounds to enter the drug development pipeline where transformation of our knowledge and discoveries to new therapies can take place - benefiting global health health and the Australian economy.
