DEVELOPMENT OF EVIDENCE-BASED PRACTICE SKILLS IN YOUTH JUSTICE

Project: Research

Project Details

Project Description

The aim of this study is to examine the extent to which the skills of youth justice workers are enhanced by training, coaching and other support mechanisms offered in Queensland, NSW and SA Youth Justice.

The project will also examine which skills are developed most following the intervention. Are workers developing role clarification skills as opposed to cognitive behavioural techniques for example? It will also consider the extent to which skills are maintained over time.

The research will also test a brief skills coding form which can be used by professional staff.
