Project Details

Project Description

Infections with gastrointestinal nematode parasites have a major impact on human health and livestock production. Multi-drug resistant parasites are now present in most parts of the world and alternative control measures are urgently needed. This project is part of a new initiative by a major Animal Health company to develop vaccines against gastrointestinal parasites of sheep and cattle. The aim of this project is to develop a prototype nematode vaccine against the most pathogenic parasite of sheep. This will be a major step in the development of commercial parasite vaccines which will be of benefit to both veterinary and human medicine.
