Project Description
The Birrarung Council is seeking a monitoring and evaluation (M&E) plan for the new Yarra Strategic Plan.
The vision outlined in the Yarra Strategic Plan is paradigm shifting. It outlines a step change in the management of the Yarra River, reflecting contemporary community expectations for the integrated and holistic management of this critical river system. It sets out an inspiring vision for dealing with the river as a living and integrated entity, combining the wisdom and knowledge of Traditional Owners with the expertise of modern river management.
Reflecting the collaborative management approach outlined in the Yarra Strategic Plan, the development of the monitoring and evaluation framework should be co-designed in partnership with the Wurundjeri Woi-Wurrung Cultural Heritage Aboriginal Corporation (WWWCHAC) and the Yarra Collaboration Committee (YCC), drawing on the wisdom, experience and expertise of Traditional Owners and all agencies collectively responsible for caring for the river and its land. The monitoring and evaluation framework should build in processes for continual learning and improvement, at both an organisational and aggregate level, towards dealing with the Yarra as one integrated entity.
