Project Description
Developing nurses work as a learning practice is proposed as a means to improve the preparation of nurses, and their professional development and retention in nursing work. These goals are important because of crises in the supply and retention of skilled nurses. The aim is to identify the most effective ways to engage the most experienced nurses more fully and in initial nurse preparation during clinical experiences, and through engagement in and reflection on these experiences, reciprocally enact their own development. This is achieved through analysis and identifying combinations of affordances in clinical settings and bases for engagement of both experienced and novice nurses.
