Project Description
Project Description: This project will research, develop and create a conflict resolution theoretical framework for schools, including principals, leaders, teachers and whole school staff. This research will provide:· An understanding of the current theories and best practices in conflict resolution in schools· An understanding of the causes of conflict· An understanding of the benefits to proactively supporting members of the school community in the development of conflict resolution skills.· This includes: o Recognising early warning signs o Identifying behaviours o How to remain calm in a confrontation o Negotiation skills· The need to align expectations and behaviour management procedures with a conflict resolution approach to support student engagement and success· The impact unresolved conflict has on school climate including: o Relationships o Productivity o Engagement o Sense of community o Academic successAim: To provide principals, leaders, teachers and whole school staff with a school conflict resolution research based framework
