Designing world-class venture capital programs to support commercialisation of Australian research during and beyond an economic crisis.

    Project: Research

    Project Details

    Project Description

The global financial crisis has had a devastating impact on venture capital investment, which is a vital catalyst for economic growth and innovation. As a result, many enterprises have been starved of funding and many research opportunities have not been developed or commercialised. This project investigates and evaluates innovative measures that foreign governments have introduced to stimulate venture capital activity to support the commercialisation of research throughout the financial crisis. Research into foreign initiatives will be used to inform the Australian government of the most effective policy options for addressing Australia's venture capital funding problems during and beyond the current economic crisis.
