Design Thinking Workshop: Moreland City Council

Our workshop will use design-based action-oriented methods. The activities will renew connections and develop pathways for accountability and action within the Moreland City Council community. Participants will be involved several phases of design-thinking activities that will provide opportunities to forge strong connections to issues and hot-spots as well as between various council stakeholders. The specific area to be addressed is how women feel unsafe walking or using public transport at night and their preference for traveling by car. This creates tensions around parking restrictions which make it difficult for some people to travel by car or would result in them parking further from their house. Moreland is looking at how this can be addressed and what Council can do to improve safety and perceptions of safety as part of an integrated approach.
